Do-It-Yourself Fire Ring Installation Guide

 Installing Fire Rings

Use compactable rock chips to build a pad for the fire ring.  The fire ring can also be placed on top of  concrete, patio blocks, or pavers.  Simply layout and level the fourteen pyzique or antique pyzique blocks in a circle.

Build additional height by adding more layers. Each layer must have a stagger at the intersections of the blocks.  The fire ring insert is two blocks deep requiring at least 28 blocks.

The fire ring should be set in before the last two layers are installed so that they can be set around the insert.  A good height for campfire is 3-4 layers while 7 layers seems to be an ideal cooking height.

The fire ring inserts act as a buffer to the heat so a clean porous rock that will drain easily should be used up to the bottom of the insert.
